Doris M. McCloskey

Doris Marie (Seeger) McCloskey, a 53 year resident of Hatboro, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018; she was 87.

Doris was the loving wife of Joseph P McCloskey, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage until he died on September 12, 2015. She was the only daughter of the late Frank and Helen Seeger (Benford). Doris worked at the IRS until her retirement in 1985 at 55 years of age. She spent the years after retirement with her family and friends. Doris spent much time with her mother, Helen Seeger, until she died in 2001. Doris cared for her WWII Disabled-Veteran husband, Joseph. She also enjoyed going to the homes and restaurants with her children and friends. She held an annual Christmas Holiday Dinner with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, going to the casino and keeping up with current events. As a graduate of Olney High School in Philadelphia, it was highlighted in her yearbook that she loved lo read.

Doris is survived by her two sons: Joseph P. McCloskey, Jr. (Eileen) and Frank M. McCloskey (Barbara), her daughter, Diane Marie Breckenridge (John), four grandchildren Jake, Michael (Molly), Sean (Kelly) Laura (Ben) and seven great grandchildren, Max, Michael, Caden, Matthew, Jacob, William and great granddaughter, Jacqueline.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing, after 10 am, Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the James R. Baskwill Funeral Home, 20 W Montgomery Ave (half block west of York Rd), Hatboro, where her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
