I first met Mr. Shebest when he coached my first little league team in Hatboro. Our team wasn't very skilled but Mr. Shebest certainly made it fun. I later came to know Joe much better when he worked for Western Electric and I Bell Telephone. During that time I came know him as a good man, a gentleman and hard worker like most in his generation. He always had a kind word and a welcome smile. In the past few years I would see Joe at the supermarket and he hadn't changed a bit with a quick smile and easy conversation. My deepest sympathies to his family and church community which I know he loved dearly. My final thought is that Joe was one of the "good guys" that the world needs more of, but of course you already know that.

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. -Psalms 116:15
Joe will be missed; however as we remember him and his fight clear to the end of life, our faith is strengthened indeed.
