Elfi Randolph

Elfriede (Elfi) Rosa Randolph of Hatboro passed away surrounded by her family on September 26 at the age of 85.

Elfi was born on April 23, 1932 in Vienna, Austria to Johann Franz Schuhmacher and Ottilie Mueller. In Vienna, she studied classical piano and dance. She graduated from the Vienna Commercial Academy, worked for the Creditanstalt-Bankverein and attended the Vienna Christian Science Church.

On September 29, 1956, she married Douglas Graydon Randolph in Vienna and then moved to Abington, Pennsylvania and then to Hatboro in 1962 where she lived for the rest of her life. She taught piano and was a charter member and president of the Bucks County Piano Teachers Association. She also worked at Philadelphia National Bank, Bank of Old York, Nationwide Insurance and as a full charge bookkeeper for the Upper Moreland Library.

Elfi maintained an active social life. She enjoyed attending concerts, assisting with holding piano recitals, playing her favorite card game Canasta and attending the Hatboro YMCA. She was a member and reader of the Hatboro Christian Science Society and a member at the Jenkintown First Church of Christ, Scientist.

Elfi will be lovingly remembered by her family and her many friends. She is survived by her three sons, Mark Schuhmacher Randolph and wife Traci LaBerge of Wilmington, Delaware, Erik Douglas Randolph and wife Elaine of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Scott Pharo Randolph and wife Carolyn of Southampton, Pennsylvania as well as her grandchildren Zachary Randolph-LaBerge, Kevin Randolph, Todd Randolph, Annie Randolph-LaBerge, Alexander Randolph and Jason Randolph. She will also be remembered by her first cousin Eva Winter, husband Robert and daughter and son Michaela and Stefan of Vienna, Austria, her goddaughter Caroline Crease, Charleston, South Carolina, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and friends in the U.S. and Austria. She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas, her brother Johann Schuhmacher, her brother-in-law Donald Randolph, her sister-in-law Beverly Blackway and her godson Trey Crease.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday October 7 at Lehman United Methodist Church at 300 S. York Road, Hatboro, PA 19040. Visitation begins at 12:30, and the service will be held at 2.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Jenkintown Christian Science Church at 747 Yorkway Place, Jenkintown, PA 19046 and Bucks County Association of Piano Teachers at 25 Essex Place, Newtown PA 18940. Checks can be made payable to Christian Science Jenkintown Church and BCAPT.
