Edmund O. Mason, Jr.

 

Edmund “Ed” Mason, died August 11, 2017 in Chandler Hall.  He was 83.

 

Ed was the loving husband of Mary Lou (Ogden) Mason, with whom he had shared 59 years of marriage.

 

Born at home in Southampton, he was the son of the late Edmund, Sr. and Noreen (Hilt) Mason.

 

He graduated from Upper Southampton-Warminster Joint High School in 1951.  He was honorably discharged from the United States Army with the good conduct medal. He was a mail carrier for the Southampton Post Office.

 

Ed was a long time member of the North and Southampton Reformed Church, 1380 Bristol Rd, Southampton, PA 18966, where he was involved in many committees.

 

He enjoyed Phillies games with family, fishing in Canada, camping, hunting and bowling.  He and his family were avid farmers.  Ed was also an active volunteer at Southampton Fire Company.

 

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by his daughter, Karen Mann; his granddaughter Jillian Mann and close friends Mary Beth Harhigh and Juliana Cave.  He was pre-deceased by his sister, Sally and son Alan Bruce.

 

His family will receive relatives and friends after 11 am, Friday, August 18, in James R. Baskwill Funeral Home, 20 W. Montgomery Ave, (half block west of York Rd) Hatboro, where his funeral service will be held at 12 noon.  His interment will follow in Hatboro Cemetery.

 

Donations may be made in Edmund’s name to the above named church.
